First of all, it helps to have an idea of what you will be doing while on your road trip. A little planning will help you better estimate how many miles you’ll be driving, as well as help keep everyone on the same page for activities.

You’ll want to make sure everything is lined up with your auto insurance. Insurance policies change often, and sometimes you need to revisit your plan so that you fully understand what your coverage entails — especially if your plan automatically renews. For instance, ask yourself what all would be covered if you were in an accident. Learn as much as possible about your insurance policy— it never hurts to revisit car insurance 101 — so that you can be better equipped and have peace of mind as you hit the road.
We strongly recommend insurance which will cover their International travels while in our tours.
One of the first maintenance tasks you should tackle is examining your brake pads. Brake pads are responsible for providing the friction necessary to stop or slow your vehicle, and when they’re not working sufficiently, it can be bad news. If you hear a high-pitched screeching noise when you brake, it could mean that your brake pads are all but gone, meaning that your brakes are basically grinding metal to metal. Even if your brake pads are not making noises, however, it’s important to check them before you set out.
Having tires that are in good shape is also essential for a road trip. If you notice that the tread on your tires is a little worn, look at the other side of each tire; if there is good tread on the other side, consider rotating them — switching between the driver side, passenger side, rear, and front. Rotating your tiresperiodically helps to prolong the life of your tires and keep your vehicle riding smoothly and safely. If you can see cracks, dry rot, or bubbles in the sidewalls of your tires, get them replaced immediately.
There are six critical fluids that help your vehicle run well:
Each of these fluids requires their own servicing, so it’s important to check all of them. Most cars newer than 10 years need an oil change every 5,000 miles (or six months); most cars 10 years or older should have an oil change every 3,000 miles. Calculate how many miles you will take on your trip to figure out if you need to change the oil before you leave or during your trip.
Some of the fluids, like radiator fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield wiper fluid, can simply be topped off if you see that the reservoir is low.
Preparing is key to a good tour being Wildlife Safari, Mountain Climbing, Bicycle Tours or Road Trip. Plan activities that you and those with you will enjoy, and look into your auto insurance plan to make sure you have the coverage you need. And don’t forget to perform any necessary maintenance on your vehicle, such as the brake pads, tires, and fluids. Once you’re all ready, hit the road and leave your worries behind!
